We’re delighted to once again be hosting a series of free small events here at the Calanais Visitor Centre as part of Scottish Archaeology Month 2026, taking place throughout September.

Join us for a captivating evening of Gaelic Song and Storytelling, exploring the deep connections between community, archaeology, landscape and story, with Gaelic at the heart of the evening.
Travel back through time across the landscape of Calanais as Magaidh Smith shares songs connected to the community and the iconic stone circle, alongside the stories, traditions and cultural heritage woven through them.
Taking place as part of the closing celebrations of Scottish Archaeology Month 2026, this promises to be a unique evening celebrating the living heritage of Calanais though music, language and storytelling.
