Meet the board
Ian Fordham, Chair

Having run a successful tourism business on the islands for thirteen years, and led Outer Hebrides Tourism for ten years, I have enormous experience of the tourism sector and the opportunities and challenges it faces. Calanais is one of the most important tourism assets in the Outer Hebrides, and a major reason for people coming to visit and stay.
Guy Redwood, Vice Chair

I am based in Enaclete, where we are starting to croft regeneratively and self-build our home. I have 25 years of experience in the creative and market research sector, and a passion for usability and accessibility. I have worked on a wide range of projects over the years and my experience will benefit the Calanais redevelopment project.
I have also spent over twenty years racing and showing our Siberian Huskies across the UK. I co-organised the world-famous sled dog race in Aviemore for 6 years and have been an elected committee member of the GB breed club.
Graham Blair, Director

I live in Aberdeenshire and was formerly Head of Mortgages at Bank of Scotland. I bring my experience in project management, finance and strategy to the team, as well as a desire to protect and celebrate the history of this extraordinary location.
Lorna Eller, Director

I live just the other side of the loch from Calanais (I can see the Visitor Centre from my kitchen window). I am an accountant and accounting academic and although retired I provide accounting assistance to various local social enterprises on a voluntary basis. I have here for lived 49 years, love the Stones and enjoy contributing to the board.
Alison Sheridan, Director

I’m a freelance archaeological consultant, having recently retired as a Principal Curator in National Museums Scotland, where I’d worked since 1987. I co-produced the report on the prehistoric pottery found at Calanais published in the Historic Environment Scotland report on Patrick Ashmore’s excavations between 1979‒88. I’m also a specialist in the period when Calanais was built and used.
Jacqui Ferguson, Nominated Director

A resident of Callanish village, I am deeply involved in various local community groups and volunteering. I have served on the board since 2022 as a representative for Urras Oighreachd Chàrlabaigh, the community land trust.
My goal for this project is to see the Visitor Centre become a central hub that delivers tangible economic benefits and meaningful employment to our community
Jennifer Murray, Director

I was born and brought up on the island and have recently returned home after spending 8 years living and working in London. I specialise in building, implementing, and delivering Talent Acquisition strategy, and will support the Calanais Visitor Centre to develop a skilled team for the benefit of this special community and landscape. Through this redevelopment project, I believe that the Centre and the Stones will continue to be a community asset for future generations through the provision of valuable, sustainable, and rewarding employment opportunities.
Kenny MacLennan, Nominated Director

I have been a resident of Callanish all my life and continue to live in the family home at New Park, except for three years while studying Civil Engineering at Napier in Edinburgh. Following the completion of my studies in 1978 I returned home and started employment with Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Engineering Services Department and continued there for the next 33 years. I took early retirement from The Comhairle and for the next 11 years worked part time for The Harris Tweed Authority as a Tweed Stamper. I am now fully retired from full time employment, but find that I have no time that I can call my own.
All my adult life I have been involved in various aspects of community work which included youth work, junior and senior football, community association, community council, and I currently chair the local community land owned estate Urras Oighreachd Charlabhaigh.
I live with my wife Joan and we have a family of 4 grown up children. I work the croft and enjoy all that crofting has to offer and when I do have some spare time I enjoy fishing and being outdoors and going off with our camper van for an adventure.
I will represent Breasclete Community Council on the UNT Board to the best of my ability and look forward to being involved in producing a transformational project for our community that will not only benefit our area but our island as a whole.
