With extracts from the parish accounts of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, Dr Elizabeth Ritchie (Centre for History, University of the Highlands and Islands) talks us through land use, housing, education and the role of the church. A rare opportunity to walk and talk with an academic who is passionate about land use and society, past and present.

Walking route is all on good surfaces. Event will last for one hour. Meet at the Calanais centre at 11am.

After the walk, join us for a delicious lunch and chat at the café, so remember to bring your wallet.
